Fulla and Her Popularity
Fulla, the famed rival doll of Barbie climbs to fame and gains popularity all over the Middle East, North Africa and the world. Not only do girls love this Arab doll and parents alike, she is also a customary icon through her clothing and features without the effort of having a boyfriend doll to make her famous to eager girls.
Fulla’s persona
As a Middle Eastern born doll, Fulla also has the same look of a real Middle Eastern woman. Not only does her dark auburn hair, caramel skin and brown, chocolate eyes make her physique up, her Arabic values also add to her personification as well. Rather than showing skin, wearing bathing suits and be all fabulous, she prefers to be with her family, spend time praying and showcase her skill in cooking. Fulla displays a true image of an Arab woman.
Fulla’s fame
Fulla gains an undying fame over her rival Barbie in the Middle East and North Africa specifically, as parents prefer her for their children, as she is the ideal representation of an appropriate Muslim woman.
Her popularity especially to the Muslim children and the general Muslim population made her not just a toy but also a good sister, mother and a wife. Parents and children will love the gorgeous auburn doll endlessly.
Her endless showcase of Merchandise
Fulla not only limits herself as a doll with a hijab and abaya. There are still tons of clothes to consider for her wardrobe summing to an outstanding number of 200 trimmings including accessories such as prayer rugs and prayer beads. She even extends her goods to portable Karaoke players, skates, dresses and summer gears such as beach balls.
Basically, Fulla is everywhere! She is streaked, seen and displayed in every shelf and window of toy stores in countries such as Jordan, Qatar, Egypt and Syria where children pedal on the roads with their own Fulla bicycles, chew Fulla chewing gums and eat Fulla breakfast cereals!
Fulla even has different versions and actions suitable for the excited children. From singing Fulla to the walking Fulla, a shopping Fulla with a pushing cart, girls might have a hard time choosing on which to buy, as every Fulla doll and trimming is irresistible and lovely. The Fulla merchandise makes her an ideal present for parents on business trips, buying gifts to their children or simply when they arrive home.
A true Arab doll
Fawaz Abidin, leader of advertising for Fulla in Damascus and Fulla’s creator, shared that Fulla has a “demure look, the Arab look.” He further adds that unlike Barbie who is highly American in culture, Fulla is Arabic in standards.
Fulla is indeed a genuine doll and a good example to children, as she honors and loves her parents, very sincere and honest to her friends and everyone, she loves reading, and most of all, conservative and modest making her truly an important Muslim doll in culture and values, and an ideal doll for children.
