Fulla- A Barbie-like Doll with a Veil
The Fulla doll is a Barbie-like fashion doll that was out in the market and had its first appearance in November of 2003, although the concept was already created in the year of 1999.
A Girl's Dream Doll
Also known as “A Girl’s Dream Doll”, the Fulla is marketed to the Middle Eastern and Islamic countries as an alternative to the famous Western Barbie doll and even displacing it across the shops. The Fulla doll- is a role model to Muslim children who promotes and preserves modesty still and also influences the children to dress and behave still with an Islamic influence.
With its thick and black hair paired with large dark eyes, Fulla displays assets that are modest. The improbable pneumatic curves and also lanky legs that are usually shown in dolls, Fulla is otherwise. All its assets are never officially on display. Fulla dolls are mostly dressed in black Abaya with a head scarf in some markets but no veil to some markets. This is so because the product also doesn’t want to showcase extremes.
Fulla – Full of Fun
Yet this does not mean that your children won’t enjoy playing with Fulla dolls because of its modesty. Fulla dolls also showcase a range of funky clothes, jewelry, grooming equipments and even furntiures. Her outdoor clothes are very colorful yet the shoulders are always covered.
The skirt on the other hand also is never above the knees. Traditionally, Muslims are expected to really dress up conservatively. But just to avoid offending the Muslims, Fulla dolls has no swimwear.
Fulla and Barbie
In the past years there have been a number of dolls who was out in the market but no one has surpassed the popularity of Fulla to the Islamic and Middle Eastern countries. If your daughter is accustomed to Barbie dolls, there is really only little differences to it. In so many ways it is almost alike. Barbie and Fulla dolls have the same height, size and now even popularity.
The differences between them could be seen in their appearance- through wardrobe, and lifestyle. Some of the activities of a Fulla doll include cooking, shopping, reading, spending time with friends and praying.
While Barbie dolls come in various careers and hobbies, the Fulla dolls career focuses on a doctor and teacher Fulla. This is something that the company would want to encourage and influence the children to follow as a perfect career route for Muslim women in the future.
Along with the Fulla doll’s package also has a line of accessories that would include watches, cameras, DVD players, umbrellas, bicycles, inflatable chairs and swimming pools. The Fulla doll is designed to be the traditional Muslim whose world revolves around her family and home. Even some of the parents have claimed that if their children dress their Fulla dolls with a headscarf they also mimic and wear hijab themselves.
Even if Fulla doll is also relatively more expensive than the other standard dolls in the market, still the benefits that it gives to their children defeats to the price difference. Yet no worries for now because the NewBoy who created the Fulla dolls have made a cheaper version called Fulla Style.
Whichever you may want to purchase, your daughters will surely not only enjoy playing with it but will also be encouraged to live and preserve the Muslim culture.
